The early-christian basilica of Santa Sabina on the Aventine Hill was named after a young christian martyr who lived in the IInd century. This church is located in one of the most beautiful residential districts in Rome, near the Palatine Hill and the Circus Maximus, and is a rare example of early-christian church. Santa Sabina still maintains its original appearance, simple yet grand, with its carved wooden door from the Vth century. After seeing the beautiful view of Rome from the Giardino degli Aranci, we will visit the church of Santi Alessio e Bonifacio, built in the Vth century. Here we will admire an icon from the VIth century and the relic of Saint Alexius' staircase. We will then cross Piazza dei Cavalieri di Malta, designed by architect Giovanni Battista Piranesi, arriving at the church of Santa Prisca.Beneath the church (only with reservations) you can visit a Temple dedicated to the god Mithras. Our tour of the Aventine Hill will end at the Pyramid of Cestius.

The visit include : the Aventine Hill with the churches of Santa Sabina, Santi Alessio e Bonifacio and Santa Prisca, Piazza dei Cavalieri di Malta (designed by Piranesi) and the Pyramid of Cestius. Visits are available every day except Sundays.
